Gratitude Blog: Day 2
Gratitude Blog: Day 2
By: Helen Ruiz
This morning when I woke up, I was immediately hit with a sense of alertness. I woke up an hour before my alarm and felt full of energy. So, the first thing I am thankful for today is the fact that I was able to get enough sleep. Last week, I was getting between 3-4 hours of sleep at most each day, and I’m very happy with how this has changed for the better this week.
My second wave of gratitude hit me when I completed my work for OSI. Each week, I work on one of the newsletters that go out to the campus community. Because I am in charge of putting together the longer of the two newsletters, it usually takes me between 2-3 hours to complete it, and so far this semester, I’ve stayed up finishing it on Wednesday nights. However, I had finished the banner design earlier in the week, and was able to put everything else together in a shorter amount of time than usual this morning!
One of my major stressors at the beginning of last week was my financial accounting exam. However, today this exam is something I am grateful for today. I walked into my ACCT 201 class at noon and realized we were getting our exam scores back. When we did, I was immediately filled with joy when I saw the score I worked really hard for. It’s interesting to me reflecting on how this one event can have opposite emotions during different days/contexts.
I encourage you all to take a minute or two to write what you are grateful for today!
