Gratitude Blog: Day 1
Gratitude Blog: Day 1
Last school year, and into the beginning of this past summer, I took the time at the end of each day to write down three things that made my day better. It could be something as simple as the weather, or something more elaborate like an event.
My main goal was to keep track of what brought me a sense of gratitude and happiness.
This summer, my life got SO busy, fun, and I became very grateful for a lot of things, I didn’t even have the time to write them down. I think that now is a good time for me to start journaling or even just jotting down my gratitude each day once again. It is that point in the semester where I have control over my responsibilities, but feel the need to remind myself of the little things that make my busy days great ones.
To keep me accountable, I will begin by writing a ten-day series, and continuing the rest in my own journal.
The first thing I am grateful for in today’s adventure is the fact that I got to my 8 am class on time. I woke up a bit later than usual, refused to leave my house without eating breakfast, and therefore, I didn’t leave for school until 7:40ish. I commute to NCC, so the 8 am traffic was very well present on my way to school, but I made it to my class all the way in LAC with about five seconds to spare!
The second thing I am grateful for, and probably one of the highlights of my day today, is my “workout”. Now, I am not an athletic person by any means & haven’t set time aside for exercise in an embarrassing amount of time. However, I am currently enrolled in KINE*121- Exercise & The Brain- which has motivated me to bring fitness back into my routine. Today, I was originally going to go on a walk with my dogs. However, I got bored and started jogging. I actually really enjoyed this, and have set a new goal of doing this two or three times a week.
The third major highlight of my day is getting started on this blog assignment. For over a month, I haven’t found the inspiration, and therefore the motivation, to create a blog that I would truly enjoy. Therefore, I am very thankful that a lightbulb turned on in my head and I have found something I like doing and writing about!
Aside from these major events in my life today, I am also very thankful for the little things in my life. I enjoyed a donut after lunch, went on a mini shopping break downtown, and took my sister to get a boba drink.
Took my sister to 45 Degree, she refused to smile & proceeded to become upset :) |
I encourage you all to write down three things you are grateful for today!
