Photography, video, and music: First VIP concert experience

August of 2019 I was ecstatic- I scored a VIP ticket to a band I loved at the time. It was fourth row to a venue I had been to several times before, so I knew it was a good seat- nice and close to the stage. I had been to concerts before, so of course I was excited, but I had always wanted to experience the up close version of a concert.

I spent over $200 on this concert, the ticket alone being $200 plus anything else I bought. Not exactly the best way to spend my money, but I would be lying if I said that I completely regret it. I love concerts, so I'm the person that would spend that.

To this day, it's the best concert I've been to. Not only because it was VIP, but their performance was just amazing. This isn't me being biased, but I definitely felt like they were the most genuine performers. I didn't really know what to expect, and I was excited to find out. I wasn't surprised that they ended up being my favorite concert to this day. I'm so glad they were my last concert before covid hit.

From the second I got my ticket all the way until the lights went out in the venue, I was beyond excited for the performance. Actually sitting in front of the stage I was surprised to find out close I really was to the stage.

My view of the stage
I made friends with the two girls sitting on my right, and they made my night more enjoyable than it already was. I'm always okay with going to concerts by myself if I have no one to go with me because I always end up talking to the people sitting around me. It makes me sound like a loner, but that's what happens when your friends have a different music taste than you (although that isn't really the case anymore). We had a lot of fun singing together so shout out to those two.

I give the guys 20/10 for their performance. I had high expectations but they still exceeded them. They played some old songs, new ones, and even mashed up other songs that weren't theirs. They sang a little bit of Ed Sheeran, Daft Punk, and others. Each member also did a solo throughout the night.

As I keep repeating, they were also very genuine. None of the concert felt "scripted" and the fact that I felt this made the experience so much better. At the beginning of the show, one of the members told us that if we felt tired at any point during the show we could sit down. All of them said some really nice things, and I think the fact that they took the time to say these things is so cool. They definitely have earned my respect.

I did get a chance to briefly say hello to all the members. Funny thing is, it's labeled as a meet and greet and while I guess it would be fair to say I met them, I wouldn't agree with the fact that it was worth over $200. Everyone who had VIP got in line and we moved forward and high-fived all the members. It was cool to say hi to the members, but I wouldn't really say that's a good excuse to rack up the price that much. I pretty much just paid for the seats, but I can't really complain because I paid for it willingly. Nonetheless, it was still was something I'll reminisce on.
