How music helps you study

When I am doing work or getting ready to study for a test I like to listen to music because it helps me get into a good groove to study. When I’m studying I tend to get distracted easily so, instead of getting distracted by my phone I turn on some of my favorite music and jam out while studying. I find it much easier to study when I have that music going on in the background.

When you study, you’re using your ‘working memory’ – that means you are holding and manipulating several bits of information in your head at once. Shutterstock)

Music is also helpful because it keeps my mind from wandering too far off the subject that I am studying for. Music makes studying easier because it can put me in a better mood or wake me up when I am studying. Overall I find that music makes studying easier and it allows me to focus better.

When looking at studies it has been shown from florida national university that using music as a way to help release stress in people who are stressed and healthy and also for people who may not be that healthy and need other ways to help release stress. Anxiety is also a big issue for kids in college especially with assignments and tests being so much of your grades and how it can help or hurt you.

The higher your anxiety levels are is more than likely for you as a person to struggle to get things done. There has been a lot of study to show that music therapy is helping with anxiety levels and allowing people to get their studies done along with being able to get through daily life. Especially being college students  where we are away from home and on our own for the first time in our lives.

It is something that many people will overlook. Music just does not help with studies but it also helps with many more aspects in life. Medical news today shows that when you do music therapy, you experience reduced anxiety immediately after the session. The goal is always to challenge to get work done in the classroom or even being able to get things done in life. This is why doctors feel that it is safe to say that music therapy can help a lot either during the activities or even before them.
